Bracelet and Oscar loving

I am embarrassed to say that I have fallen in love with these Herm├Ęs Hapi 3MM bracelets:

I am sure I could get the same effect from looping a child's belt around my wrist a few times, but I lust for these bracelets. One day.

In other news: I was super pumped and giddy when GOD OF LOVE won the Oscar for the best short film. The Detroit Institute of Art had a screening of all the short animation and live action Oscar-nominated films a few weeks ago, and a few of us paid the admission fee of $6.50 for a marathon of the shorts. GOD OF LOVE was my favourite of the evening, and Luke Matheny's acceptance speech made me love it/him even more.

Smarter

This last Wednesday, I got to see one of my all-time favourite bands Eisley play an acoustic set in a little bar in Royal Oak. I have seen them around 7 times. I have probably 10 Eisley tshirts. It's madness. They were (and always are) ethereal. And Royal Oak is pretty rocking, too.

Post-dinner and acoustic set, we went to Barnes & Noble, where I armed myself with magazines (cheaper than Canada - one of the perks of being so close to the border). Then R. got a coffee and I got a latte from Caribou, a coffee place that I have been meaning to try since first venturing outside of downtown Detroit.

I take far too many pictures, but he still loves me.

Eisley + dinner date with R. + magazines + latte = such a great night.
