Something to add to the arsenal

Foer on love

The end is neeeeeeeeear

I have 508 unread items in my RSS feed.

I refuse to delete them for fear of losing out on great ways to tie scarves/great web applications/cute outfit combinations/blog crushes/etc.

It's a sickness.

I will be reunited tonight with several deeply talented and intelligent female former students peers and one enlightening prof. I've got to reference my RSS feed for some outfit inspiration.

There has to be something in that feed of 508 items...

Numero Cent

Waiting for mon amour to finish law-related stuff so we can head to the border of Windsor/Detroit (a block away) for some good food. I am le starved.

Olivia Bee has a website! ( Her Flickr is a must-see and one of my personal favourites. AND she is ridonculously young, in addition to being out-of-this-galaxy talented. Her photos make me nostalgic for the type of adolescence that I didn't really have - she's the girl I would have wanted to be best friends with. And if she did the photography for Abercrombie and Fitch (her style brings back memories of the old Quarterly style photos), I'd shop there.

Also, in the spirit of love, I love this couple and I have since I originally saw this on Sloan Photographers' website a few months ago, but what better time to post it than this weekend?

Holy cuteness, right?

And with that, I bid my invisible readers a loving adieu. Love your lover and (more importantly) love yourself, this weekend and year-round.

Text message love notes

Me to him (10:08 p.m.): Finally going home. 8 hours of work. I am a workaholic.

Him to me (10:14 p.m.): Yes you are but that's one of the reasons why I love you.

And this is why Valentine's Day comes almost everyday for me :D

(To expand on the 8 hours of work -- this was following 7 hours of teaching.)
(Yes, I know. I have to stay alive in order for him to continue the text message loving.)

February means Valentine's Day which means...

Much like the Halloween Popeye Cigarette candy of my youth (note: I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, and I intend to carry on in such a fashion), I look forward to Valentine's Day for the candy conversation hearts. They are so good. They come once a year -- in my mind, anyway. And I think I'll stock up tomorrow.

Valentine's Day isn't about the romance or the boxes of chocolate and surprise flowers. If you're only getting the loving and appreciation from your S.O. one day a year, it's time to reevaluate a few things.

I'll be spending Valentine's Day (with or without my Valentine) with a bowl of heart-shaped conversation starters.

I need this.
