Monster Ransom

1. Want this from here sooo badly.

2. We ran around the office today post-closing, abducted all of our "Team Meeting" monsters, and took pictures of them taped up and frightened before signing up for a fake MONSTERS email account and sending a company-wide email to alert people of their missing monsters (which are now under the G.M.'s desk). Complete with images, of course.

P.A.X. is featured here.

P.S. The general manager caught us and laughed but promised to play along. Yes. I get freaking DENTAL and MASSAGE and various other health benefits for pulling the occasional prank at the coolest job in the world.

3. Cold, cold, go away...

Words cannot express how much I looooove Alexa Chung. I watch her show on YouTube. And the love keeps pouring out of me.

This weekend, when I'm making a fool of myself on some island, posing for pictures (thank god I get paid and they seem to like me, otherwise I feel like I'm making a complete twat out of myself), I am going to work it like Alexa Chung. Which is to say -- I'm going to try hard not to try.

Also loooove Lights' new album. She rocks the side part and W.O.W. tattoos like no other.

(Not loving the tail-end of my cold. Missing backrubs from the homme, who now has said cold.)

Currently working on a book review for EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE. If you haven't read it or its predecessor, EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED, you should stop everything you're doing because these books will change your life. Jonathan Safran Foer is the most profound contemporary post-modern author that I have ever been exposed to, and I read one hell of a lot. Go. Scamper off. Buy the books. This blog is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Room loving (with accents of Sondre Lerche)

Plaid. Gosh. Please stick around. (Photos soon to be featured on

Sondre Lerche, who is infinitely better than U2 (whose fans clogged up the highway on the night of their respective concerts). Plus -- has U2 does the score for an entire movie? (This is possible, but I don't care to look it up. Sondre did the music for DAN IN REAL LIFE.)

My ginormous Ikea desk which makes work seem exciting:

And what would an Ikea desk (okay, it's a table) be without an Ikea cinnamon bun?

And what would an Ikea cinnamon bun be without a ridiculously comfy furry pillow that now serves as a backrest when I'm sitting at said Ikea desk? Incidentally -- it's not from Ikea (Home Sense: $16.99!)

Breaking it up

I have been getting up at 6:15 am, going to school until 2:30 pm, going to the office immediately after school, and then working from home from about 9 until 11:30 pm before a crash into my bed, and I am well on my way to burning out.

I'll be back soon. Taking a coffee break (including lemon cranberry scone) in Starbucks right now. Lunch + third period off = WORK, but at least in the comfort of homogeneous Starbucks.
