Kate Moss for Top Shop: High Summer

I feel like Top Shop jeans are calling out to me.
Maybe I'm the denim Joan of Arc.

If pessimism wins, I can still be a winner by moving to a place like this where nobody knows me, post-B.Ed.

I will acquire a petit chien and stock my cupboards full of worldly tea, and write about the places that I travel, and watch the lightning dance across the water late at night, with the knowledge that I am all the more capable.

I'll stand as a hero (of sorts) to the dejected and insecure. They will chant, "If she can do it, so can we!" Living in our little cottages, away from the loneliness of urban crowds, we will paddle out when we need to cry and flip the boat when we need a healthy bout of laughter.

And when we least expect it, we will find everything that we had stopped ourselves from looking for. A little more carefree, a little less attached, with our past selves as the example from which to learn and grow and live.

Survival in a pocket-sized can

I'm thinking that this might be a good investment.

Audrey Tautou & The Sart

Jean-Pierre Jeunet partnering with Audrey Tautou once again? Oui, si vous plait!

Also, obsessed with this photo from The Sartorialist:

Who doesn't want to know this kid?

I saw TYSON and HUNTING DOWN MEMORY at Hot Docs last week. I was lucky enough to have an unlimited pass but unlucky with being employed and attending my company's three-day learning and information technology conference (which was also great).

Last night was one of the strangest going-out nights of my life so far. Have YOU ever been evicted from a hotel room before? For the most part, we took it in stride and I finally made it to my own bed at 3:45 a.m., post-partying and drive from Niagra -- I'm now looking forward to passing out as soon as humanly possible.

I'm in the right place at the best time

I'm in geek teaching heaven at my work conference. Spent four hours listening to Sara Kajder yesterday as she talked about how to integrate social networking and extracurricular websites into the classroom -- tres tres good. Major update, post-conference, on the best websites going (whether they're used in or out of school).

One photo per day for one year: NADINE by Kevin Trageser

Kevin Trageser photographed his girlfriend, Nadine for one year. Kind of makes me wish that my boyfriend didn't mind being photographed ;)
