This is what I'm talking about

Taken straight from Fuzz (thank you!):

"I like the process - from a brand-new unwashed pair of jeans until they're ready for burial. I really do wear them hard. I start off by doing a lot of squats to get the wrinkles in nicely. But the number one trick is wearing your jeans every single day and letting your sweat and oils start to morph the demin, so it becomes a very personal shape."

Carl Chiara, Design Director for Levi's Capital E & Red Collection.

My take on jeans:
I finally wore in a pair of black skinnies. I got through the first several days of discomfort/wondering if I could survive if I only drank water (I didn't), and now they fit perfect. And you had better bet that I won't be washing them anytime soon, as gross as that sounds to the hypochondriacs and neat freaks. My mom berates me for buying so many jeans, but there is a process to finding the perfect pair. Each pair is different -- I was very very very obsessed with a pair from AE a few years ago, and bought three pairs (one very for each pair), and each one fit differently. Each pair of jeans settles differently -- it is after they settle that you truly discover if you love a pair of pants or not. I live in jeans. I wear them everyday (even to work, hence the black skinnies). I wear them when I go out. I would wear them to bed if Lulu Lemon made jeans. Some jeans fit better than others; some jeans age better than others.

Just talking about it makes me want to go and try jeans on. It's a frustrating process -- jeans are hard to find, and even more difficult to settle into.

Pictures of my closet to follow.

don't move,
you've been chosen as an EXTRA

Personality in Professionalism: the Real Estate Series

I took these photos for my friend, C.H.
She wanted professional photos.
But I liked the way that these particular ones worked out.

P.S. OBSESSED.

Ten Steps to Becoming a Successful Indie Band

I like this. A whole lot.

A girl's best friend

I know, I know -- no hot pink notebook. It sits on my desk. The contents in my purse get thrown around a lot, and they have to stay tough. I'm not sure (yet) if the pink can handle it.

What I found on my old Flickr account

Re-inspired

Top 10 websites that I am currently obsessed with (and that are probably in my RSS feed):

1. http://thingstobehappyabout.com/ --> yeah, it's pretty self-explanatory. Translation: AWESOME!

2. http://www.photofunia.com --> gosh, web apps are just kicking the butts of downloadable apps these days.

3. http://jakandjil.com/blog/ --> OBSESSED!

4. http://turnyournameintoaface.com/ --> I don't care what Erin says. Just keep typing. My name translates into a really ugly face, FYI.

5. http://www.geeksugar.com/ --> pretty much my bible.

6. http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/ --> slay me now, I love this man.

7. http://www.theselby.com --> a new obsession and RSS addition.

8. http://www.downloadsquad.com/ --> sometimes I have to sift through it, but there is always something cool to be found.

9. http://www.style.com/stylefile/ --> the online home of Vogue. "Nuf" said.

10. http://www.nylonmag.com/?section=blog --> my music / style bible. I want to write for them. Best tangible magazine layout, and best online magazine blog.

P.S. Get an RSS feed. It is indiscreet when you look at your favourite websites while at work. At least, I think it blends in pretty well.

My brother, the manager

Austin: Oh, you're playing THERE again?
ME: Yeah. It's good practice.
Austin: Why don't you get a manager? (points to himself)
ME: You're four years under the legal age to enter clubs.
Austin: It doesn't matter if I'm there. All that matters is that you're there.
I've been hording amazing websites and mourning the white-ness that is uber.com (seriously, go check), and I needed a place to hang up my digital hat (I'm definitely not a hat person in real life, something about my ears and nose and forehead), and so I'm here.

Good enough introduction?
